LMFT

Amy Tseng

Every therapy is like an adventure in which I embark on with clients. I am passionate about creating and holding a safe space for you as you walk through life’s dark and painful seasons. I believe that change and growth take root most deeply within a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment. Working together, I aim to instill hope and help people find and live out the true identities that God calls them to be.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” Hebrews 6:19

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Florida. My approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned. My theoretical orientation encompasses a combination of Humanistic-Existential, family systems, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based couples therapy model grounded in attachment theory.

As a bilingual Mandarin-speaking therapist, I have worked in community mental health where I worked with children, adolescents, and immigrant families; psychiatric hospital where I worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD; university counseling center where I worked with college students through a unique time of transition, change, inquiry, and growth. I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate(LMFTA) in the state of Washington.

ABOUT ME

I am married to my husband Brian and together we have two young kids. In addition to my role as a wife and mom, I am also a traveler, an off-the-chart thinker, and a feeler at core. I talk for a living but music is my sanctuary.

I was born and raised in Taiwan, a beautiful island located on the Pacific Ocean. The richness of my culture inspired me to listen, appreciate, and reach out to different voices. I enjoy hiking, exploring the nature, and having deep conversations with people. I have a blog in Mandarin/Chinese about mental health, culture, and travel. https://amytsengmft.com/
