MA LMFTA

Chris Chang

I find deep meaning in walking alongside those navigating intense relational conflict, those carrying heavy weight of depression or processing grief, and those experiencing a crisis of identity or faith. I believe the key to healing is connection. I see therapy as an opportunity to slow down, be gentle and curious with ourselves, and allow another to fully see us, know us, and love us.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

I have a BA in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. I also hold a Master of Divinity from Regent College (Vancouver, B.C.). I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A) in the state of Washington.

AREAS OF FOCUS

My experience has been working with high conflict couples and families. I also work with individuals who are suffering from depression, anxiety, major loss or grief, and cultural identity. Many of the issues that I work with come from my own lived experiences such as being a parent of a child with special needs, a former pastor who has experienced deconstruction and reconstruction of faith, and growing up as a third culture kid.

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients better understand themselves, their partners/family members, and the patterns of interaction. EFT shifts us from relational stuckness to wholeness - feelings of hurt, fear, and isolation can change to feelings of validation, safety, and security. If you are longing for deeper connection, vulnerability, and intimacy with your partner, your family, or yourself I’d be honored to work with you.

ABOUT ME

I'm a husband and father of two. In my free time, you'll usually find me at a local coffee shop enjoying a great pour-over, searching for the next delicious bite to eat, or hacking away on the golf course.
