MA LMHCA

Kailey Coats

The human experience involves oppression, loneliness, harm, and violation. It is my hope to extend a hand in times when you need someone to walk through these storms with or if you need courage to look back on the times in your past that are harming your capacity to heal and creating chaos in your present life (which can be a really scary thing to do).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Psychology & Theology in Seattle. Prior to this, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington State.

I have experience providing psychotherapy to teens, adults, and families as well as providing counseling in ministry for over 7 years. I have experience working directly with at-risk youth struggling with mental health issues, trauma, and addiction, and crisis intervention. I am trained and work from a relational, psychodynamic framework, which means that I believe we are harmed in relationships but can also heal in relationships. With my specific training and through our therapeutic relationship, my goal is to grow your capacity to live more fully, care more deeply, and love better.

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am a reader, hiker, baker, fitness/health enthusiast, dancer, wife, friend and dog mom. I believe that healing comes from community, emotional corrective experiences, therapeutic relationships, friendships, playfulness, and God. I holistically approach my life and healing through all of these outlets and hope to extend this invitation to you as well.

A NOTE ON THERAPY

The human experience involves oppression, loneliness, harm, and violation. It is my hope to extend a hand in times when you need someone to walk through these storms with or if you need courage to look back on the times in your past that are harming your capacity to heal and creating chaos in your present life (which can be a really scary thing to do). My goal for all my clients is deep internal change instead of quick fixes. I am so happy you are taking this courageous step and honoring yourself by seeking counseling.
