"You use a mirror to see your face, you use art to see your soul"

George Bernard Shaw

"What more can any of us ask for but to be created by the very thing we feel compelled to create."

Mark Nepo, Drinking from the River of Light

We are so excited to announce that a new Art Therapy Group for Teens will be launching soon at our Redmond location.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a powerful tool that can help people explore their emotions and experiences in a contained and creative way. The benefit of a group therapy is that it also invites the opportunity for participants to build meaningful connections with other group members. This group will help clients build a better understanding of their emotions while also strengthening inner awareness and giving space for insight to grow.

Our aim will be to harness the power of creativity to foster emotional expression, self discovery and healing. We will seek to connect with each other and come to a better understanding of our emotions and with it our unique gifts.

Why Art Therapy:

  • Art is a great outlet for exploring emotions and feelings that often can elude words.

  • Art therapy creates an opportunity for validation, acceptance while allowing for individual's emotions to be seen in a unique, and powerful way

  • Art provides safe containment for emotions the client is feeling/expressing

  • Art can help individuals differentiate between different feelings while also giving them the opportunity to better become more intimate with their emotions

  • Reflecting on art can bring us to a better understanding of our emotions and often lead to insight

  • Exploring art in a group setting provides ample opportunity for connection and creativity.
